Are you ready for the return of Jesus Christ at the rapture?

Jesus promised to come back, and Scripture tells the Church to keep watch rather than to calculate the day. What readiness actually means, and how a person prepares for it now.

Jesus Christ is coming back. Are you ready?

The return of Jesus Christ is one of the clearest promises in the Bible. Before He went to the cross, Jesus told His disciples:

I will come back and take you to be with me.
John 14:3, NIV

After Jesus ascended into heaven, the angels also declared:

This same Jesus… will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.
Acts 1:11, NIV

Jesus is coming again. And because He is coming, the Bible calls us to prepare.

What does it mean to be ready?

Being ready for Christ's return is more than calling yourself a Christian or attending church.

Jesus gave a serious warning:

Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father.
Matthew 7:21, NIV

Readiness begins with a genuine relationship with God and a life that seeks to obey His Word.

We should therefore ask ourselves:

  • Have I truly repented of my sins?
  • Am I walking in obedience to God?
  • Am I pursuing holiness?
  • Have I turned away from what God calls sin?
  • Am I living with eternity in mind?

A warning to prepare for the coming Messiah

The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness has consistently called the Church to return to God in repentance and holiness and to prepare for the coming of Jesus Christ.

On March 22, 2024, the Ministry shared a message titled "Vision of the Coming of the Messiah to Rapture the Church," through Prophet Dr. David Owuor. The message carried an urgent warning concerning the coming of the Messiah and the need for the Church to prepare in righteousness and holiness.

The message is not about trying to calculate the day of the rapture. Rather, it points to the urgency of being spiritually prepared.

This agrees with the warning of Jesus:

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
Matthew 24:42, NIV

The question is not simply whether we believe Jesus is coming.

The question is whether we are ready to meet Him.

Repentance and holiness

Jesus preached:

Repent and believe the good news!
Mark 1:15, NIV

True repentance means turning away from sin and turning back to God. John the Baptist said:

Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
Matthew 3:8, NIV

Repentance should therefore produce a changed life.

The Bible also says:

Make every effort… to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14, NIV

Holiness affects our choices, words, relationships, desires, and actions. It is not something we postpone until we hear that Christ is near.

We prepare for His coming by how we live today.

Do not be caught unprepared

Jesus illustrated this through the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25. All ten were waiting for the bridegroom, but only five were prepared when he arrived.

Jesus concluded:

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
Matthew 25:13, NIV

Knowing about the return of Jesus is not the same as being ready for it.

We can attend church, read the Bible, and hear messages about the rapture while still failing to prepare our hearts before God.

Readiness is personal.

Are you ready?

Nobody knows the exact day or hour of Christ's return.

But we know that He promised to come.

So do not wait until tomorrow to make things right with God.

Repent.

Turn away from sin.

Pursue holiness.

Walk in righteousness.

Obey God's Word.

Prepare for the coming of the Messiah.

The return of Jesus Christ is not merely a message about the future. It is a call to live differently today.

Jesus is coming. Are you ready?

Ask a question

Ask the ministry. Ask about the Bible.

Nobody should have to hold a question about what is taught here because there was nowhere to put it. Ask plainly — a hard question asked in good faith is welcome, and it reaches the desk directly.
